The Hunter/Jumper program at the Houston Polo Club is offering a Beginner Riding Camp for kids 6yrs and up.Our program start kids off with a safe, fun, and strong riding foundation. A great start for a future in show jumping, or where ever their riding adventures take them!Daily schedule includes:1 hr Riding lesson followed by on-the- ground lessons in grooming, tacking. basic stable management including heath care and nutrition.
Each camp runs Monday-Friday 8:30-12.Cost is $500 per week. Space is limited.June 4-8June 11-15June 18-22June 25-29

April 15The 8 Goal USPA Southwestern Circuit Officer’s Cup (Spring Classic) match game on Sunday provided the setting for a great afternoon of spectator polo benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Keith and Sarah Rollins started a local fundraising team through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money for LLS research, therapies and treatments. The Houston Polo Club was delighted to coordinate Sunday’s polo match with the couples’ fundraising event.

Cinco Canyon Ranch and Horsegate took to the Sunday Farish field for first time this season. First to score was Shane Rice for Horsegate followed by Joe Wayne Barry and Drew Luplow trading goals for Horsegate and Cinco Canyon Ranch respectively. Then it was S. Rice with a booming shot for Horsegate to end the second chukker 4 to 1. Cinco Canyon Ranch came back in the third with 2 penalty conversions from D. Luplow and David Marks accompanied by a goal from Bryan Middleton to tie things up but S. Rice snuck one more goal in for Horsegate to end the first half 5 to 4.

Players took to their tents to strategize for the second half while spectators took to the field to stomp divots, sip complementary champagne and partake in a Foot Mallet Swing Contest at the South end of the Farish field. Guests were also treated to live flamenco music during halftime and display cars from Jaguar Houston Central and Land Rover Houston Central. B. Middleton fired on all cylinders in the fourth with three goals for Cinco Canyon Ranch and goal from teammate Robert Orthwein to put them in the lead. S. Rice scored on a penalty 4 conversion to end the chukker and in the fifth S. Rice and R. Orthwein traded goals but S. Rice managed another goal in the sixth bring his personal total to six goals this game. B. Middleton scored with the game ending goal for Cinco Canyon Ranch to win 10-8 over Horsegate.
