Gold Cup
The tournament is well underway and the balance of power has already shifted to that seen in the Queens Cup – Sumaya appear to be on a roll, beating La Bamba in a thrilling 8 chukka game at the weekend, 17-16. Piaget beat Thai Polo to change their fortunes, and Dubai won their opener against Coca Cola, who then fell to Les Lions. Wednesday’s games saw Dubai beat La Bamba to secure their second victory, whereas Sumaya beat EFG Aravali to be the first team to three successive wins.

Deauville
The (now 22 goal) Gold Cup will be played once more from 26th July to 12th August. The club has undergone some major changes from a new president, a new manager (John Horswell) to new boxes to improve conditions for both horses and grooms. Some big names will be attendance once more, including legendary Pablo Macdonogh, Milo Fernandez Araujo and Pancho Bensadon. The 16 goal Silver Cup will run from 13th to August 26th.

- INPROTUR From July 8th till 16th Inprotur continue the promotion of tourism in Argentina around the world, this time in the French Riviera, including cities like Nice, Cannes and St. Tropez. This 5th edition will culminate with the classic Gala Diner at St. Tropez Polo Club during the International Polo Gold Cup.

Work is underway for the biggest refurbishment in the hotel’s history. The lobby, restaurants, bar, rooms, suites and garden will all be improved and updated. The hotel will continue to function normally throughout, using the new entrance via the Mansion, Cerrito 1455. For the time being breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the Petit Salon on the mezzanine floor.
